  • What are the dates of the conference?
    VARC 2025 will take place on March 29th & 30th, 2025.
  • Where will the conference held?
    Manchester; at the Mercure Manchester Piccadilly Hotel, where we held 2024!
  • Can children attend?
    All ages are welcome! Children aged 3 & under attend for free. Children aged 4 & above require a ticket according to venue policy. Kindly email us before booking for guidance on ticketing options. For attendees with special needs or breastfeeding requirements, please inform us so we can make sure you are catered for. Minors must be supervised at all times. If you need further clarification or have questions, please contact us. We aim to ensure the event is accessible and accommodating to everyone.
  • Are you offering Travel Grants?
    Travel Grants are now closed. All applicants will be notified of the decision by December 15, 2024.
  • Who is the target audience for this conference?
    This is the primer UK conference for animal advocates, activists, and those wanting to get more involved in advocacy.
  • Will I be able to connect with attendees before the conference?
    Yes, we will be using an event app this year. We listened to feedback from attendees in April and have a new app we’re excited to launch.
  • Where can I apply to speak at VARC 2025?
    Our applications are now closed for 2025. The deadline was 30 September 2024.
  • I'd love to contribute to VARC! How can I get involved as a volunteer?
    We're thrilled to have you join our team! Volunteering is a fantastic way to support the animal rights movement, connect with fellow advocates, and be an integral part of this impactful event. We're seeking dedicated volunteers to fill key roles such as: Moderators: Support speakers by facilitating Q&A sessions, ensuring smooth transitions between presentations, and helping to create an engaging atmosphere. Welcome Desk: Be the friendly face of VARC, greeting attendees and providing information. Photographers: Capture the energy and inspiration of the conference through your lens. To apply, please fill in our volunteer application form We'll review applications on a rolling basis and be in touch with selected volunteers soon.   • How do I book a room for VARC 2025?
    A limited number of rooms have been reserved for conference delegates at the Mercure Manchester Piccadilly for Friday 28th and Saturday, March 29th, 2025. To book, call the hotel reservations at 0161 751 1412 (Option 1) and quote '2025VARCUK'. Rates per night ( not including a £1.20 visitor charge): £148.00 - Room only £160.00 - Single occupancy with breakfast £172.00 - Double/twin occupancy with breakfast Full payment is required at booking; cancellations afterward are chargeable. We recommend booking early due to limited availability.
