Help Shape VARC 2026 –
Join Our Speaker Committee or Advisory Team

As VARC grows, we’re inviting people from across the movement to help guide its development — both as a conference and as a piece of infrastructure for the UK animal rights movement.

We’re bringing together two small groups to help shape what’s next:

Advisory Group – Help Guide VARC as a Movement Organisation

This is a strategic role focused on supporting the development of VARC as an organisation — not just the 2026 programme.

Advisory Group members bring insight into the evolving needs of the movement, help us identify opportunities for deeper impact, and support our broader direction and connection to the wider movement.

While you’ll be involved in reviewing talks and shaping the 2026 speaker lineup, the remit is broader: helping ensure VARC remains aligned, effective, and rooted in movement-building, unity, and learning.

Ideal for people with:
-
A strong understanding of the UK movement and its dynamics
-
Experience in leadership, strategy, or systems thinking
-
Alignment with frameworks like movement ecology

Commitment:
-
Approx. 2–3 hours/month (Sept 2025 – June 2026)
-
10–15 hours during talk review period (20 Oct – 2 Nov)
-
Option to stay on for up to two years
We welcome applications from:

-
Advocates with lived experience of marginalisation
-
People working across different movement roles: grassroots, comms, institutional, creative, research, policy, and beyond
-
Anyone who values collaboration and is committed to building a stronger, more connected UK movement
