General Admission: A ticket to VARC is a ticket to discovery and empowerment.   • What time should I arrive on Saturday 13th April?
    Check-in will open at 8am, and programming will start at 9am on Saturday. There will be tea, coffee and pastries between 8-9am We have arranged an early check-in and social for those arriving into Manchester on the evening of Friday 12th April, if your in town join our 'Welcome to VARC' from 7pm, please make sure you RSVP so we know venue numbers and can advise of any changes
  • What time should I depart on Sunday 14th April?
    Programming will wrap up by 5pm on Sunday. If you want to stay around later to socialise or have later travel arrangements, we will suggest a local bar to go to, or you can propose an activity in the app community board.
  • I'm arriving into Manchester on Friday is there anything planned?
    Yes, we have a welcome to VARC planned for Friday evening from 7pm. This will be a great opportunity to meet new people, catch up with friends and check-in early for the conference. Please RSVP here so we can monitor numbers for the venue, and notify if there are any changes! There will be the option to have dinner & drinks, but not compulsory. We've also put together a guide for those who have some extra time whilst in Manchester on our Location page
  • How do I download the app?
    How to Access the "Vegan and Animal Rights Conference" App Follow these simple steps to download and access the conference app on your iOS or Android device: 1. Download the App: If you've received a welcome email, click on the link provided to download the app. Alternatively, you can find the app by searching for "My Hub by Eventify" in your device's app store (iOS App Store or Google Play Store). 2. Search for the Conference: Open the "My Hub by Eventify" app. Use the search feature to find the "Vegan and Animal Rights Conference".\ 3.Access the Conference: Important: Full access to the app and its features is available only after you've purchased your conference ticket. Once you have your ticket, follow the prompts in the app to "assign" your ticket. This step is necessary to create your profile within the app and unlock all its features. Don't have the ability to download the app onto your phone? You can view the app via desktop at
  • I don't have a phone that can download the app, how can I view it?
    You can view the app via desktop at this will allow you to participate in the community board, connect with other attendees, see the agenda and speaker list as you would on a phone. This will only work on a desktop
  • Can I bring my kids?
    All ages are welcome! Children aged 3 & under attend for free. Children aged 4 & above require a ticket according to venue policy. Kindly email us before booking for guidance on ticketing options. For attendees with special needs or breastfeeding requirements, please inform us so we can make sure you are catered for. Minors must be supervised at all times. Saturday evening's entertainment isn't available for children (Time to be confirmed, no earlier than 6pm). If you need further clarification or have questions, please contact us. We aim to ensure the event is accessible and accommodating to everyone.
  • Can I bring my companion / service animal(s)?
    Due to the hotels policy only service / guide dogs are allowed to attend.
  • Does the venue have a room rate for attendees?
    Yes if booked before 14th March, the Mercure Manchester has 30 rooms reserved for attendees for Friday 12th April and Saturday 13th April 2024.   • Is there parking at the Hotel?
    Yes. Parking rates: Up to 15 minutes – Free Up to 4 hours – £8 Up to 10 hours – £15 Up to 24 hours – £20 Prices are per vehicle; blue badge holders parking is free upon display of a valid blue badge.   • Are meals provided?

  • Are you offering Travel Grants?
    These are now closed. The deadline was 28th February which we extended to 8th March, everyone who applied before this date should have received a reply to the email address you used in the application
  • Will I be able to connect with other attendees before the conference?
    Yes! We will use a conference app for all event communications. About a month before we will launch the app, you will receive an invitation. This email will arrive in the inbox of the same email you use(d) to register for your ticket.
  • I have allergies, how can I let you know?
    Allergens will be label on food at the conference, however if you have a severe allergy or something you would like us to know about, please contact us at so we can make the venue & caterers aware.
  • Will you have somewhere to store my luggage during the conference?
    Yes we will have a storage area open 8am - 7pm Saturday and 8am to 5pm Sunday for luggage and coats
